All TVET courses count towards your HSC units. Some TVET courses count towards your University Admissions Index (UAI). Look at the
TVET course brochure to find out which TVET courses count towards your UAI. If you use a screen reader,
contact us for a plain text copy of the guide.
It is important to have as broad an education as possible. By enrolling in a TVET course you can complete your HSC and gain practical work skills at the same time. Having your HSC and part of or a full
TAFE NSW Certificate makes you a more attractive worker for any future employer. Enrolling in a TVET course gives you a head start.
TAFE is different
You won't have to wear a school uniform. Our courses encourage a practical hands-on approach, often combining study with work placement. Some courses involve industry visits.
TAFE NSW is an adult learning environment where you are encouraged to be self-directed, self-motivated and to assume responsibility for your learning progress. To do this you will need to be committed to attending your courses and being fully involved in the learning process.
