The Aboriginal Education Training Unit (AETU) offers a range of services and courses for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Aboriginal Education Training Unit (AETU) services

Our Aboriginal Student Support Coordinators provide advice and support for students who are studying at TAFE. Some of the services we provide include:

• tutorial assistance
• advice about courses which might be right for you
• help with enrolment procedures as well as information about how to contact the Aboriginal Student Support Officer
• advice about applying for ABSTUDY.

Aboriginal Education Training Unit (AETU) courses

Sydney Institute offers courses that are culturally, vocationally and educationally appropriate for Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our courses include:

• bar and beverage service courses
  
• committee management courses
  
• communication courses
• small business courses
• information technology courses
• commercial cookery courses.
  

Some courses are facilitated in appropriate local venues, such as community centres, schools and workplaces.

Eora College

Eora College also offer Aboriginal  and Torres Strait Islander students support in all their courses. Eora College offers:

• community services courses
  
• literacy and numeracy courses
  
• events management courses
  
• visual arts courses
  
• performing arts courses.
