ART EXHIBITION
The Cultural Arts students will showcase their artworks in sculpture, painting, print making, drawings and ceramics.
Opening: Thurs 19 November 12.30PM-4PM
Exhibition:Thurs 19 Nov- Fri 27 10AM-4M (closed on weekends)
MUSIC CONCERT
Certificate and Diploma Music students will perform their original and favourite music pieces.
Monday 23 November 6-30-9.30PM
GROUP THERAPY
Music theatre students will present a game show with a difference –transformation inherent in disclosure - which they call group therapy.
Wednesday 25 November 7:00PM Start

All events will be held at Eora College: 333 Abercrombie Street Chippendale NSW 2008

Experienced Sydney Institute staff from a various range of our teaching sections including advertising and hospitality will be hosting online course and career advice sessions.

These sessions will discuss the various study options within their specialised area of study and the career prospects within an industry, gaining qualifications can provide you.

The advice sessions will also provide you with the opportunity to have your various course and career questions answered by Sydney Industry staff that are industry practitioners who are experienced and specialists within their field.

TAFE talent films first ever SI YouTube campaign

An all TAFE production team pulled off a successful, action packed film shoot. This is the second film shoot TAFE students have completed, for a series of YouTube comedy clips to promote TAFE training.

Students worked on all aspects of production from concept creation, right through to production planning, filming and post-production.
Film and Television (Screen) students worked directing, on camera, sound and general production to bring to life campaign concepts created by Advertising students. TAFE trained makeup artists created great special FX .

Mitch Smith is at the forefront of Australian film makers of the future. He’s just scored himself $3,000 for winning at the PNAN Youth Arts Festival with his short film Try Before You Buy.

It’s a film with a definite twist!

Mitch completed his Certificate III in Screen and Media at Sutherland College, Gymea Campus.

“It’s a great course with brilliant teachers who give you a good insight to the industry and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to get into the film industry,” said Mitch.

Mitch’s future will see him making more short films and hopefully feature length films.

Helping hand for skilled migrants

Getting a job in your chosen career is not always easy. It’s even harder for skilled migrants who come to Australia. They have the talent and skills needed, but face numerous barriers when they try to enter the workforce.

TAFE can help.

I applied for many jobs in my field but I didn’t get any positive/proper responses. This course has helped me develop my career. The teaching atmosphere was very professional, friendly and logical. The work experience followed by formal classroom studies was a sound opportunity to put our past skills and classroom training into practice. I was offered a casual role of an assistant administration officer (my first job) by my training/work placement organisation. The best part of my work placement was it gave me a very sound local experience, local professional referees, new contacts, opportunity to learn new accounting system and some extra money in times when I was in utmost need of it. I would like to recommend this course to all the overseas trained professionals who have migrated to Australia who are not able to make it over here due to one or another reason. Download the discussion paper, National VET Research Priorities 2010 and Beyond and then send us your written submissions or contribute to a blog.

An extravaganza called "Follies and Fashion"!!

Listen to performances from our music students, whilst watching floristry students present their major work incorporating designer gowns created by Fashion Design Studio students.

When? Wednesdy 11 November, 6pm - 10pm

Where? Burwood RSL Club, 96 Shaftesbury Rd, Burwood

How much? Free - but you must reserve your seat before hand, as this is a much anticipated event.
