Having completed her traineeship in Certificate III in Children’s Services, Lisa decided to further her career by studying the complexities of Out of School Hours Care.

“The Diploma in OOSH has helped me gain the career position of co-ordinator of Before and After School Care and Vacation Care Services at the Riverwood Community Centre. It can be challenging, due to the vast age range of the children but the work is very fulfilling and rewarding.”

Hye Jin was really overwhelmed and excited to come top of Fashion Technology and then to find out she had the College Achievement award.

“It is a great achievement that will help my future. I wouldn’t have achieved this honour without the support of my teachers. Growing as a person and now having the confidence to create a garment form beginning to end is definitely a highlight.”

Yaovanuch topped the State in both the Diploma and Advanced Diploma of Accounting. She gained work six months before finishing her course and is now a full-time taxation accountant.

“I heard a lot from other people that when you come to TAFE, you get a job. That is exactly what happened to me! The course helped me gain a good professional background, then gave me the confidence to go out and get work in my field.”

Laura Young

Laura Young
Certificate IV in Tourism – Tour Guiding, Ultimo College
State Medal winner

Laura decided tour guiding was the ideal course for her because it is only six months and you can go straight out and work in the industry.

“I loved TAFE, the whole experience was great. We were always out in the field rather than being stuck in a classroom. I learnt things which will be essential no matter what industry I’m in, like leadership, communication, people and time management skills.”
