TAFE NSW Sydney Institute, in partnership with the University of Ballarat, offers a Bachelor of Hospitality (Management) program. This course has been developed to meet the global demand for senior hospitality managers. It prepares graduates with the necessary skills, knowledge and attributes to undertake a wide variety of professional positions in the hospitality industry.
Tasting Success is an innovative leadership program with a primary focus on women in Year 2 or 3 of the Certificate III in Hospitality Trade (Commercial Cookery) course.
Sydney Institute has entered into an innovative partnership with Accor, the world’s largest hotel and tourism group. Hospitality Management students are employed by an Accor Hotel and are given the opportunity to gain work experience while studying. This unique internship opportunity to students via the Sydney Institute Job Placement Service is the only service of its kind in a TAFE NSW Institute.
TAFE NSW – Sydney Institute is the preferred training provider for all Bakers Delight apprentices. Bakers Delight is Australia’s leading retail baker. As part of the partnership with Bakers Delight, Sydney Institute has a purpose-built facility to train apprentices and franchisees in baking, small business, workplace hygiene, retail and customer service skills. The facility, which has been operational since early 2002, includes an internal classroom, baking facility and shop-front for retail bakery training.
Graduates of the Sydney Institute Advanced Diploma Hospitality Management program receive accredited prior learning (APL) and may directly join the final semester (six months full-time) of the Bachelor of Arts with Honours in International Hotel and Tourism Management at the International Hotel Management Institute (IMI) Switzerland. This partnership between TAFE NSW – Sydney Institute and the International Hotel Management Institute (IMI) Switzerland is aimed at helping students get a degree faster.
The Bachelor of Arts with Honours in International Hotel and Tourism Management is designed for people who have prior qualifications in tourism and hospitality and want to advance themselves in a management career in the industry. Students learn the skills and knowledge necessary to deal with the demands of senior management in the tourism and hospitality industries.
