TVET at the Design Centre Enmore

The Design Centre Enmore's TAFE-delivered vocational educational and training (TVET) courses give secondary school students in Year 11 or 12 a unique head start into a selected design career as well as a direct pathway to further study at the Design Centre, other TAFE colleges or university. For general information about TVET please see the Sydney Institute TAFE for Schools program pages.

Students are able to complete a vocational qualification by studying selected TAFE subjects half a day a week, whilst completing the HSC. All courses count as units towards the HSC & nationally accredited qualifications.

Other advantages include:
  • more interesting HSC study choices in Years 11 and 12
  • training and qualifications that have industry recognition
  • earning two sets of credentials – from TAFE NSW and the NSW Board of Studies
  • recognition of prior learning for some TVET units if further study is undertaken
  • teaching by industry trained professionals
  • learning in an adult environment.
