NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme)

NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme) is a program established by the Australian government designed to assist individuals acquire the skills and knowledge needed to start up and run a new, viable, small business.

NEIS benefits

Under the NEIS program, eligible participants will receive:

• funding for training in either Micro Business Operations or Small Business Management
• business mentoring and support for up to 12 months
• a dedicated Liaison Officer.

Role of Liaison Officer

Each participant (enrolled in the NEIS scheme) at Sydney Institute will be provided with a dedicated Liaison Officer to assist in:

• completion of the enrolment procedures
• development of participant’s business plan
• development and coordination of training programs ensuring they meet the needs of individual participants
• business operations through regular contact and mentoring.

Once participants have successfully completed their NEIS training, they may be eligible for income support through the Government. Refer to the workplace.gov.au website for more information on income support and NEIS.
