Student services: overview for international students

Accommodation

The SITEC Accommodation Officer can arrange the following services:

• homestay accommodation with Australian families. This includes accommodation, meals, use of household facilities and the opportunity to practice English with your host family
• guardianship with homestay for students under 18 years of age
• airport pickup and transfer from Sydney Airport to homestays or other accommodation.

Academic counselling

Our counsellors understand the education system and issues relevant to students. We have bilingual counsellors to make sure we can best help our students.

Counsellors run a range of classes and workshops covering areas such as study skills, communication, career options and stress management.

The Counselling Unit is generally open from 9.00 am to 5.oo pm Monday to Friday. Evening appointments are also available.

Guardianship

If you are under 18 your parents must nominate a guardian who will be responsible for you while you are in Australia. We can help arrange a guardian.

Student Association

The Sydney Institute Student Association provides facilities for the cultural, social, intellectual, recreational and physical development of its members.
