Counselling and career development services

Sydney Institute can offer free educational, personal and career counselling services.

If you are thinking of enrolling at Sydney Institute, our counsellors can help you with:

• choosing the right programs and subjects
• planning your career and re-training
• other concerns or questions about returning to study.

If you have already enrolled at Sydney Institute, our counsellors can further assist you with:

• difficulties with your studies and exams
• making career goals
• personal matters that may affect your progress at college
• group programs (e.g. study skills or stress management)
• financial problems.

In addition to the counselling and career development service, Sydney Institute offers a range of other student support services and facilities and an employment service, CareersConnect.

Our on-campus workshops cover a range of topics to help you succeed in your studies and career development, and to improve your wellbeing. 

“The Counselling and Career Development units will endeavour to respond to your email enquiry as soon as possible. This email service is checked most work days during the teaching period but some delays can occur in high demand periods.

For any urgent issue requiring a more immediate response, please phone the Counselling & Career Development Unit on the number for your college listed below between Monday and Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.

This enquiry option is primarily for the purposes of making initial enquiries and appointments with Sydney Institute’s Counselling and Career Development Units and not for online counselling. We consider face to face and phone contact more appropriate for certain issues and may phone you on the number you provide to discuss further.”
