For animation purposes the latest version of Maya. For architectural purposes we teach 3D Studio Max.

To successfully complete a digital effects and 3D animation course drawing skills are not compulsory but are highly recommended. We give students plenty of drawing practice for those who require training or developing in these skills. It is also necessary to present a portfolio when applying for full-time courses as general design skills are essential. The range of media we accept in a portfolio is broad and is listed on the application and information sheets available on request.

We ask that all applicants have a reasonable range of skills on computers. We do not ask that you know a 3D software, that is what we are here to teach but it is necessary to feel confident on computers.

Our full-time classes have a maximum of 14.

Our full-time digital effects and 3D animation classes commence each February. Our shorter Maya courses run each semester and other short courses are dotted throughout the year.

Depending on the skills you bring to the full-time courses and how well you apply yourself in the course, it is possible to find work after completing Certificate IV 3D Animation & Digital Effects course. Our full-time animation courses have a proven track record of supplying graduates to industry. This is because the courses are focussed on industry skills and practices and not solely knowledge of the software.
